When you speak with Kye Prior, Convera’s Senior Product Delivery Manager, the first thing you notice is a strong sense of curiosity. The kind that turns a childhood spent coding his own games into a career dedicated to shaping how Convera’s platforms reach customers.
Based in Peterborough, Kye has built his career on steady growth, meaningful connections, and a genuine passion for how money moves around the world.
“I have always been drawn to computers, gaming, and building things from scratch,” Kye shares. “I spent countless hours as a teenager writing code and experimenting with systems. This has led me to the work I do today.”
Kye didn’t begin his career expecting to work in the world of payments. After finishing school, he was unsure about what he wanted to pursue as a career. “My first real job was as a cashier at Tesco, while I figured out my next step. It was my brother, who also works at Convera, that encouraged me to apply for an entry level Customer Support Admin role.”
That recommendation opened the door to a career Kye hadn’t even imagined for himself. Working in customer support introduced him to colleagues across the business, and he found himself drawn to the buzz of problem-solving as part of Convera’s Internal Customer Service (ICS) team.
“I really enjoyed my time on the ICS team. I eventually stepped into a senior position where I handled complex system queries. That experience broadened my understanding of Convera’s services and helped me realize that Product Delivery is where I truly wanted to grow,” explains Kye.
Bringing new products to Convera’s customers
Today, Kye’s focus is ensuring new products and enhancements are delivered smoothly to both customers and the internal teams that support them. This involves collaboration across teams such as operations, sales, and marketing to make sure their requirements are fully understood and met before a product goes live.
Much of Kye’s day is spent connecting the dots. He fields product questions, helps diagnose system issues, and leads conversations that shape how new features will work in practice.
“Convera operates globally, so these conversations often stretch across time zones and regions, connecting me with people around the world,” he says. “This gives me a front row seat for exploring how different parts of the business contribute to the customer experience, which I really enjoy.”
An initiative that Kye is most proud of is the development of new balances and bank account management features on Convera’s payments platform.
“Watching engineers bring these features to life in real-time has been a standout moment,” Kye enthuses. “These improvements over legacy systems signal the direction Convera is moving in, toward more modern, scalable solutions that expand how customers manage cross-border payments.”
What great teamwork looks like at Convera
What Kye values most is strong relationships, which he believes are the foundation of effective product delivery. “Understanding internal platforms and processes is important, but the ability to collaborate with people across the company is what makes progress possible.”
“I credit a lot of my professional development to the relationships I’ve built with peers who have helped me learn new systems, and teams who challenge and support each other during complex projects. These partnerships make the difference between a good product and a great one,” he says.
Kye also works closely with financial institutions deepening his understanding of the broader payments ecosystem.
“I’m constantly learning new things about how money moves between banks, and the fundamentals of the SWIFT network. All this knowledge helps bridge the gap between technical detail and customer impact, which is invaluable in a business where precision and trust are crucial.”
Kye’s role also brings opportunities to travel for workshops and meetings. Experiencing new places and meeting colleagues face-to-face gives him a deeper understanding of how global the cross‑border payments landscape really is. Whether speaking with banks, partners, or internal teams, he values the variety of perspectives that shape each product decision.
Martial arts, growth, and the future of Convera
Kye is driven by the chance to learn, tackle complex problems, and bring new ideas to life.
“The pace of change in cross-border payments keeps me energized, especially as we continue enhancing our platforms with future needs in mind. Convera’s culture revolves around giving people space to take on new responsibilities and grow their capabilities, which I truly appreciate.”
Outside of work, Kye brings the same level of commitment to his kickboxing team in Peterborough. He competes regularly while coaching younger athletes and helping raise funds for the team to travel to international competitions.
“The discipline, focus, and teamwork required in kickboxing mirror the skills I utilize in my professional life,” he says.
Kye’s journey shows how curiosity, ongoing learning, and the right support can shape a meaningful career at Convera. From his first role in customer support to helping deliver the products that power the company’s future, he has built a path defined by impact and growth.
“I feel invigorated by what’s next for Convera. As the payments industry continues to shift, we’re evolving towards new products and solutions built with the future of finance in mind. Watch this space,” Kye says enthusiastically.
