As a Senior Product Marketing Specialist at Convera, Anisha brings a unique blend of curiosity, creativity, and customer focus to everything she does. Originally from Southampton, UK, Anisha’s journey to Convera has been anything but linear. After earning a degree in economics, and several years cutting her teeth in a niche marketing role in the magazine industry, Anisha began looking for a broader marketing role that would allow her to explore a passion for understanding customer behavior.
“I’ve always been fascinated by what makes people tick,” Anisha says. “That curiosity lead me to marketing where I could combine everything my Economics degree had taught me about data, with storytelling and strategy to really connect with people.”
Anisha joined Convera as a contractor seven years ago, supporting the company’s UK education vertical. Her talent and drive quickly earned her a permanent role and promotion to assistant marketing manager.
“When we transitioned to Convera,” Anisha continues, “I was asked to be part of the product marketing team developing cross-sell campaigns for our Trade and Services vertical on a global scale. I was really excited by the opportunity to work across regions, gaining insight into the similarities and differences between customer behaviors and trends around the world.”
Marketing with meaning
Today, Anisha leads cross-sell campaigns with a focus on currency hedging solutions. She is all about creating value for customers beyond just selling products.
“Many customers come to us for either currency risk management or payment solutions, but not often both. My job is to help them see the bigger picture of how Convera can support their business goals holistically.”
Anisha approaches her role by demonstrating one of Convera’s core values; being a customer champion. “If you don’t try to understand the customer’s world inside and out, your message won’t land. I always try and put myself in their shoes.”
This mindset has shaped some of her most impactful work, including a global campaign to educate hedging clients about the benefits of Convera’s cross-border payment solutions. A critical part of this campaign has been the rollout of virtual sessions to bring go-to-market teams around the world up to speed, empowering them to have effective conversations with clients and prospects about Convera’s holistic offering.
“Another project I’ve been excited to work on, has been refreshing the currency hedging pages of our website. I’ve really enjoyed distilling complex topics like forwards and options contracts into something that’s accessible for every business.” Anisha says.
A collaborative culture
When asked about the key skills required to succeed in her role, Anisha is quick to highlight putting the customer first. “It’s critical that you’re able to take on customer feedback,” she explains. “It’s about building a strong enough relationship where the customer is willing to provide feedback and translating that back into our products and services. We strive to continually refine what we offer, so we’re always meeting customer needs.”
Anisha also believes that listening and relationship building are key skills for navigating Convera internally. “It takes a village to launch a campaign, working across multiple teams and regions. The ability to capture insights from multiple sources and proactively bring them together can be a juggling act, but if you’re organised and understand what each team needs from you, your peers will really appreciate your efforts.”
For Anisha, this sense of collaboration and a shared enthusiasm to serve customers in the best way possible is what defines life at Convera. “I love the people and the diversity of the workforce,” she says. “Every day I collaborate with colleagues all over the world and everyone brings something different to the table, from technical knowledge to creative skills.”
“What’s more, I genuinely find that people at Convera want to help each other succeed professionally and personally. I feel like I can speak my mind, and the culture is built around seeking employee feedback to continually build a supportive and encouraging workplace.”
Channeling Martha Stewart outside the office
When she’s not crafting campaigns, Anisha is busy at home in Fleet, UK with her husband and two toddlers. She’s a passionate baker, “Much to the dismay of my fitness obsessed husband,” she jokes, and loves to experiment with eco-friendly life hacks, from home organization to DIY cleaning products.
“If you want a fun fact about me,” Anisha laughs, “My first full-time job after graduating university was in sales support for a local buffalo farm. Part of my induction training involved learning to milk a buffalo! So, you could say that was a first glimpse of understanding the value of getting to know the products you sell!”
Looking to the future, Anisha is thrilled to be part of Convera as it continues to evolve in a fast-paced industry. “It’s amazing to see how far we’ve come since the acquisition. From how we operate, to what we’re investing in, and how we’re shaping our own culture and values. There’s a real momentum here, and I’m excited to see where it takes us next.”
